While the MG Y-type was a 1939 design, it didn't make it into production until 1947 thanks to World War Two. This YA example, with 46bhp 1250cc engine, was registered in June 1950 and is one of 6131 built, with just over 100 left on British roads. The odometer shows 61,787 miles and although the car is now MoT-exempt as an historic vehicle, it has a ticket through to August 2024. The car has been is reported by the vendor as running well and braking in a straight line, although there is a rattle on start-up which disappears when pulling away and has been diagnosed by members of the MG Owners' Club as a piece of rust trapped in the propshaft. The car is believed to have been restored around 2006. Paperwork includes the V5C, around 50 invoices back to 2006, MoTs back to 2006, instruction manuals, technical information, owner notes and a parts catalogue.
