1977 FORD CORTINA 2.0 S MK4

This MkIV Cortina, with five-speed transmission, is one of the now rare 'S' models, with the letter denoting 'Sport'. Because the S was discontinued when the MkV Cortina was introduced in August 1979, survivors are scarce - the vendor believes that just 45 of the 2.0-litre cars are left now. A restoration was started on this example, but stalled due to a loss of storage. Among the new items fitted are a boot floor and front wings (always quite vulnerable spots on these cars) along with new tyres in 2021. Obviously though, more work will be required to properly complete the restoration. The striped seats specific to the S model are in situ. Three previous registered keepers are recorded on the V5C, with the current owner since 1980. The odometer shows 20,149 miles, although this isn't warranted. The Cortina was registered in May 1977 and its last MoT was undertaken in June 2014. The only documentation with the car is the V5C.
