1972 AUSTIN MINOR PICK-UP

From 1968, commercial variants of the Morris Minor were also available with Austin badging as well as the traditional ‘crinkle-cut’ radiator grille. This late Austin pick-up was registered in April 1972, has had eight registered keepers overall and is now showing 97,409 miles on its odometer. Although MoT-exempt as an historic vehicle, it has been given a fresh test, which is valid until April 2024. The pick-up was previously green, it was changed to the current maroon last year. The Austin has been restored, with the vendor noting the work done as the engine (a 1275cc version) being stripped down, the cylinder head remachined to run on unleaded, a new water-pump, timing chain and clutch fitted, the brakes done, the carburettor reconditioned, and the hoses, rubber seals, back wheel arches and rear floor replaced. The body was taken back to bare metal and the resprayed inside and out. Spares that come with the vehicle include the original wheels and tyres. The vendor notes that there is slight play in the nearside front track rod end (mentioned as an MoT advisory), but otherwise the Austin drives as it should. 

Documentation accompanying the Austin includes the present and past V5Cs, current MoT certificate, and a large selection of invoices, many dating from recent years. There are also old tax discs plus MoT certificates from 1975, 1991, 1993, 1995 to 2000, 2002 to 2011, 2013 to 2014, and 2019.
