1989 BMW E30 318I

This very successful race car was originally converted from an E30 two-door road car for the BMW Toyo Tyres Championship by prominent BMW race team, Sport Meister. It did very well, taking many class wins in this hard fought championship. Under Sport Meister's ownership the car was well prepared and maintained, with the race engine having a major refresh every two years with new shells, rings and clutch. Brakes were fully serviced every season with new calipers, seals and service overhaul. The engine has only run three test days since its last overhaul. Since coming into the vendor’s ownership, the car has been entrusted to Touring Cars specialist Lavant Motor Company, to be readied for the HRDC 2023 season.

All safety equipment was then replaced with the latest in-date equipment and the cars was stripped for a full overhaul, race set-up and cosmetic upgrade with a full repaint for the prestigious HRDC ‘Gerry Marshall Trophy Series’ where it is eligible to run in the ‘WILLHIRE 24’ production class of this Gp.1 historic race series. Now resplendent in a homage to the vendor’s previous career in Production Touring Cars, it has been entered in the HRDC ‘Gerry Marshall Trophy Series’ at the Donington Historic Festival on the 30 April and will be offered with a paid-up entry worth £1045.

The specification includes a production specification engine and gearbox, vented Ferodo discs and pads, Spax suspension with Fisher springs, winged race seat, six-point harness, plumbed-in fire extinguisher, tow straps, Team Dymaic wheels with fresh rubber, full dynamic set-up by Lavant Motor Co, spare set of wheels and tyres, service parts kit. As well as being registered with the HRDC, this car is eligible for PBMW, TTRS, CCRS 750 and other saloon car clubs. It's also fully road registered and MoT tested, through to December 2023. Comes with V5C, HRDC entry form, spare keys and old scrutineering tickets.
