1968 JAGUAR E-TYPE 4.2 FHC SERIES II 

Built in August 1968, this Jaguar E-type Series II fixed-head coupe was sent to the USA and sold there in October 1968, according to its Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace Certificate. It was reimported back to the UK and restoration begun in 2012. However, personal circumstances now prevent the completion  of the restoration by the vendor.  

The vehicles chassis number and engine block number match correctly to the paperwork. The car has been converted to right-hand drive and extensive body work carried out, with the vendor saying that the car is now completely rust-free. The new metal includes the floor pan, sills (outer, inner and internal strengtheners), footwell boxes, lower front bulkhead, boot floor, door skins and bonnet valance panel. The bonnet is rust-free and straight. Engine, gearbox and rear axle have all been professionally rebuilt, and the radiator has also been rebuilt too. New parts include the engine frames, brakes, wiring loom, stainless steel exhaust, fuel tank, all suspension bushes, springs and dampers, right-hand drive dash panels, and right-hand drive steering rack. There's also a new brake master cylinder and servo, plus the carburettors have been rebuilt and the tachometer and speedometer refurbished and recalibrated for 3.31 CWP. All the tyres (185 70/15) are new. There are many parts to complete, including two unused, brand-new complete tan seat kits.

The UK registration has been issued, with a period UK numberplate allocated (ANK 440G). All taxes and duties have been paid; the Jaguar is now tax and MoT-exempt. While the Jaguar has been dry barn-stored over the 15 months, it has been run periodically during that time, we're told that the engine runs with good oil pressure, and the brakes and clutch are free, but the vehicle will of course require completion of the restoration.     

Documentation with the Jaguar includes  the V5C, Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Certificate (Heritage Certificate), a stack of invoices and photographs relating to the restoration, UK registration and numberplate authorisation, and some technical paperwork.
