1989 AUSTIN MINI RACING FLAME

The vendor's father started to restore this 998cc Mini some years ago, spending thousands on parts before ill health meant he was no longer able to continue due to health issues. The car was registered in September 1989. There is no current MoT; its last test was in January 2016 at 29,735 miles. Recent work done on the Mini includes new bodywork and paint, a full new interior, Minilite wheels and tyres, and brakes. During our test drive though, the brake pedal did seem sticky. The history file with the car includes the V5C, owner's manual (albeit for an older Mini) plus a well-organised file of invoices and lists of work carried out plus MoT invoices back to 2000.    

The car was declared a Category D insurance loss in October 1999; vehicle damaged but repairable, insurer decided not to repair.
