1988 FORD ESCORT XR3i - 63K MILES, ONE OWNER FROM NEW
1597cc, manual. This remarkable Diamond White Ford Escort XR3i has been owned by the vendor since new in September 1988. He describes it as “completely original, except for the stereo, which is included in the boot.” Recommissioning will be required as the car has spent the last 26 years in a garage, but the engine does turn over. The engine oil and coolant were changed in 2015, but the car remained unused. It appears well preserved inside and out, with 63,119 miles showing on the odometer.
The car still wears its original optional alloy wheels and dealer plates from Gilbert Rice of Dereham, and retains all its original glass apart from the windscreen. It's equipped with a sunroof, and the smart cloth interior shows very minimal signs of wear. A contemporary sunroof wind deflector and mud flaps are also included.
Spare keys are included, together with its V5C showing zero former keepers and 2 ring binders full of maintenance history. This includes a spreadsheet itemising all its maintenance, up to 2001. This included 14 services, and an unleaded conversion in 1989.
