1970 AWS SHOPPER GOGGOMOBIL LHD

250cc two-stroke petrol, manual. The AWS Shopper was designed in 1970 by a former Borgward dealer, and built in West Berlin on the Goggomobil chassis. Top speed from the rear-mounted engine was reportedly 55mph, and the square-steel tube frame is clad in plasticised sheet metal panels, enabling a surprising amount of space despite its compact dimensions.

This eye-catching example is in lovely condition, with a tidy two-seat interior featuring green carpets and grey seats. It's a recent arrival in this country, registered in August this year, and although production began in 1973, this car is registered as a 1970 model. Production ended in 1974, making this a rare car indeed. The odometer shows 24,927km (15,489 miles).
