From the collection of Mr Charles Silverman, Anglia Car Auctions are pleased to offer the following six vehicles. Having owned the vehicles for many years Mr Silverman has decided to reduce his collection and concentrate on his classic commercials

1956 Fordson E83W Woody Station Wagon. These were made from 1938 until 1957. During the war many new examples were converted into ARP ambulances. From 1953, chromed headlight bezels were fitted on some models and the groove in the top of the bonnet handle releases was deleted. Chassis-cowl models were offered. Martin Walter offered a minibus conversion of the regular panel and a 'woodie' conversion was offered by Car-O-Van, offering seating for up to six passengers! All wood was said to be treated with Cuprinol and the roof fully insulated.

This particular car is unusual because it has no rear side doors, just the two at the rear. The body builder for this model isn't known, but many conversions were carried out on new chassis-cowls.

1918 Studebaker Touring Car

In 1916 the Studebaker six-cylinder was 'stretched' to 5798cc and from 1918 was badged as the 'Big Six' - known internally as the Model EG from '18-'21. (The EH Light Six was also available, and this used a 4729 six introduced in 1913.) When launched in 1913, these were the first engines to use a monobloc engine casting. The Big Six was made from 1918 until 1926, but from 1918 to 1920 was only offered as a seven-seater touring car. The 5.8-litre engine produced 60bhp.

Figures report that in 1930 9189 Business Coupes and 5850 Rumble Seat Coupes, along with two- and four-door sedans, roadsters and phaeton models.

Thanks to much recent press coverage the vendor is giving the cars a second chance at auction with a revised estimate.

To be sold as a pair

Of only 10 A105 Countrymans produced, this particular example is believed to be the only automatic version. Sold in need of major restoration the vendor believes that 1 good car could be made from the 2 with a useful amount of spares left over !

If these vehicles fail to sell, they will be banger raced by the vendor. Although Anglia Car Auctions respect the individuals rights to their property, we would prefer that these extremely rare cars are saved. As a result there will be no buyers premium on this lot and the vendors premium and entry fee will be donated to the Lennox Childrens Cancer Trust
