A replica of a 1950s' MG TF built during 1979 and using an RMB Gentry body kit with a modified Triumph Herald 12/50 chassis with Mk3 Spitfire engine as a basis. The donor Herald was originally registered in January 1967. The car features electronic ignition and a stainless steel exhaust, plus full weather equipment including side screens and a useable quarter tonneau, which the vendor believes may need some adaptation in order to fit more closely. Also coming with the car is an indoor elasticated red dust sheet with MG logo, while there's a discretely-mounted radio/cassette player under the dash, an automatic immobiliser and some spare keys. Spare parts with the car include the original SU carburettors, new door handles, new tyres and inner tubes. The vendor has owned the car for the last 22 years and tells us that the car would benefit from rectification of a sticking front carburettor jet plus, if choke is used in winter, it can be reset by pressing it upwards from under the bonnet. The odometer shows 35,007 miles, which isn't warranted, and is likely to be around 135,007 miles, based on the age of the vehicle and information in the history folder. As an historic vehicle, the RMB is exempt from annual MoT testing; its last expired on June 2018, after having passed the previous year at 34,467 miles. The well-organised paperwork file includes the current and previous V5Cs showing six former registered keepers, plus a huge history folder. This features magazine articles, specs of the car, RMB Gentry history, Gentry Journal magazines, old tax discs, adverts and a large stack of bills right the way back to the 1970s. The MoT certificates date from 2017 back to 1980. The record of the car's life is very comprehensive, also including a log of ownership from 1967 (in original Herald form) through to 2004.
