1988 MERCEDES 190E 2.3 16V COSWORTH

2,299cc. Finished in Black with black leather and check fabric interior. This 190E Cosworth was retained by the director of the supplying dealership until May 1989. The second owner, a farmer, used the car until it broke down in 1998 when it was pushed into a barn where it stayed for the next twenty years until purchased by the vendor in 2018. The mileage at this time was recorded as 46,550. Recommissioning works were undertaken including reconditioned fuel injection pump, new injectors, cold start relay, fuel accumulator, Bosch battery and overvoltage relay but the car remained difficult to start. After replacing many other parts, it was found that the timing had jumped a tooth. The car now starts first time. In 2019 the car was subject to a respray, new windscreen, refurbished alloys and new Dunlop tyres all round including the spare. The rear suspension has been rebuilt with new arms/bushes, however there is a slight creak from the offside rear (possibly the shock absorber bush). All the brake calipers have been reconditioned. It has not been used since and has been kept undercover. The car has its original 5-speed dog-leg gearbox, operational sunroof, original Becker Grand Prix stereo and first-aid kit. The vendor is warranting the 46,597 miles covered and although he has owned the car for four years, it has not been registered in his name. Comes complete with receipts for parts dating between 2018 and 2022 totalling £3,750, MoTs for 1996 and 1997 and then 2021, 2022 and 2023 and sales brochure.
