1977 MERCEDES R107 450 SL AUTO

Although this Mercedes-Benz 450 SL was only registered in the UK in October 2002, it is believed that to have been a South African build, put together in 1977. Although the V5C states the engine to be 4520cc, based on information from noted specialist The SL Shop, the engine is believed to actually be the larger and more powerful 4973cc V8 unit.  The odometer shows 132,405km. While the car is now MoT-exempt as an historic vehicle, the vendor says that it has been inspected regularly. There is a slight front end exhaust blow and some underbody welding repairs are required. The V5C also shows an incorrect VIN, which is believed to be a typo which probably dates from the original UK registration and cannot refer to any other vehicle, as it is the wrong format for Mercedes. The history folder includes the current and past V5Cs showing three former registered keepers since its UK import in 2002. There's also a large format owner's handbook - albeit in French - plus a stack of bills dating from 2003 to recent times, with many of the earlier invoices from Rolls-Royce and Bentley specialist Silver Lady. The MoT certificates date from 2002 to 2003, 2005, 2008 to 2009, 2012 to 2013, 2017 and 2018. A spare set of keys also comes with the vehicle.
